Review international dial routes and destination controls
International routes need review when staff, destinations or carrier policies change. Use call records and the live dial plan to check the routes people actually use.
Inspect the active rules
- Confirm that access and national trunk prefixes are stripped only where intended.
- Compare allowed destination groups with the approved carrier permissions.
- Check that emergency, local and short-code routes are not intercepted by a broad international pattern.
Sample recent successful and rejected calls with personal numbers redacted. Look for unexpected destinations or charges, then assign an owner to each discrepancy. Record the carrier plan version and review date, since numbering and account permissions can change.
The international dialling codes guide provides the numbering context for this review.
