What this VoIP call quality scorer measures
This tool gives a quick interpretation of three network measurements that affect interactive voice: round trip latency, jitter and packet loss. It helps support teams decide whether to investigate the network before changing phones or providers.
How to use the result
Enter measurements taken during the period when users noticed a problem. Test the actual path used by the phone or softphone and repeat the test at a busy time when possible. If wireless devices are involved, compare results near and far from the access point.
How to interpret the measurements
Higher latency creates conversational delay. Jitter shows variation in packet arrival time. Packet loss removes voice data and can produce gaps or robotic audio. The result is indicative, not a formal MOS score or a guarantee of call quality.

Are the thresholds universal?
No. Codec, jitter buffers, endpoint hardware, traffic patterns and provider network design all influence user experience.
Why can calls be poor when bandwidth is available?
Voice quality depends on delivery timing and packet integrity as well as throughput. Queueing, unstable Wi Fi, route changes and packet loss can affect calls.
